In order to do that it must examine the new file and then compare its contents with known malware-related files in the antivirus’s database. This is a resource-intensive and lengthy process. The more time it takes is, the less accurate the detection. The antivirus must also install interceptors that look at system events deep within the computer’s kernel order to send the data to its engine.
